Banabila & Saka

"Imagine O Yuki Conjugate meeting Cluster? The electronics are dark and moody, brought to life by ethnic/acoustic instruments. The sound is full of strange vibrations. A great listen! " (rodd707)

AUDION #25 Curiously esoteric
Rich instrumentation featuring traditional instruments like melodica, saz, banjo, guitar, etc, are combined with high-tech elements (synthesizers, samplers, etc) and yet mostly the mood is neither ancient nor modern, but curiously esoteric and out of time. (Alan Freeman).

WESTZEIT (december 1994) Variety
The Turkish saz-player Yaşar Saka and Dutch-Yemeni keyboarder Michel Banabila get a hand from a bunch of friends on guitar, hammond, percussion, etc, to mentally decorate their second album The Dreamfields. All ten instrumental tracks, written by the Rotterdam based duo, have a strong meditative quality. This is where traditional instruments collide with electronics in the nicest way possible. Unlike other ambient projects, variety is the spice of this album. Highly recommended. (MH)

OOR (9 Juni 1998) Exotische avonturenfilm

GONZO CIRCUS (#13, 1998) betoverende ambient
